Many companies, industries, and individuals gain streams of revenue from affiliate programs. The sad fact is many of the affiliate links are not generating as much SEO optimization and value as they could. If the large search engines determine the links in place are only there to provide some financial reward, they will be ignored which can lead to lower rankings, page views, and clicks. There are methods you can employ to help increase the SEO value of the links.
Suggestion 1 -:
Create a dedicated landing page just for affiliate use. This will allow affiliates to link directly to their personal versions which can include categories, product pages, or other deep pages.Without becoming too technical, you can make minor changes in the URL which will not have any adverse effect on searches’ experiences, but it will cut down on duplicate content pages. Talk to your larger affiliates about making the change because it can be a complicated process to set up.
Suggestion 2 -:
Be aware of the fact that your large clients will undergo several changes in relation to URL structure. When this happens, it causes affiliates to link to old URLs. Client redirects can fix the problem, but too many times the redirection either does not get completed, or the redirect is just wrong.
You will have to contact the client to make them aware of the bad linkage and improper redirection. They will need to update their links. If you get any argument, simply bring up lack of identification and tracking codes will mean that they will not get credit for the sales that they generate.
Suggestion 3 -:
You need to get affiliates to make better use of your YouTube videos and embed videos that you can provide. When they embed a video it creates a clean backlink to your site. There are three benefits that occur. First, your affiliates will add increased value on their site because of the videos that will potentially increase the click through rate to you. Second, your YouTube channel will be strengthened. Third, your website will get an additional link.
Suggestion 4 -:
Take the time to add increased value to the widgets that your affiliates use. There has to be a proper relationship between your iframe and your affiliates’ widgets to get SEO value. If the search engines cannot see the link, you will get no value whatsoever.
Try using a HTML wrapper around the iframe so it will be seen better by search engines. Your affiliate can also provide additional content that search engines would find. Two benefits occur. One, you get an additional link to your website. Two, the affiliate can add content which will better attract search engines, and users will be able to view the new info.
